We can treat wrinkles with the following treatments:
BOTOX® Cosmetic (Botulinum Toxin type A)
Botox® is a non-surgical treatment for wrinkles that has been used in the medical profession for over 30 years. With an experienced physician, Botox® is injected into the muscles in the face to reduce the expression that cause wrinkles and fine lines. To provide natural and effective results, it is crucial that the physician who administers the Botox must have a precise understanding of anatomy and technique experience. The results are noticeable between 4-5 days post treatment and the effects last for 4-6 months, however, patients have noticed longer lasting results.
Botox® can also be used as a preventative treatment. Botox® slows the muscles that contract throughout the day which leads to etching lines in the skin. It can be also used as a lifting treatment softening smoker lines around the mouth, eye drooping and the corners of the mouth that sag with age.
- Frown lines between the eyebrows
- Horizontal lines running across the forehead
- “Crow’s feet” around the outer eyes
Similar to BOTOX® Cosmetic, Xeomin® is a neuromodulator designed to reduce the movement of overactive muscles that can contribute to wrinkle formation on the upper face. As a result, Xeomin® can help to diminish the appearance of existing lines and creases and provide gradual aesthetic enhancement over time. If you receive regular follow-up treatment, you can potentially train your muscles not to contract so often, typically leading to fewer creases in the future. If you are dissatisfied with your appearance due to wrinkles along the forehead, between the brows, and around the eyes (crow’s feet), our experienced physician, Dr. Shehla Ebrahim, can perform Xeomin® injections to help restore a more youthful look.
Dr. Ebrahim will customize a treatment plan that addresses your unique anatomical needs and expressed goals during the initial consultation. Most patients report little to no discomfort during the procedure, though we can provide additional options to help maximize your comfort. The process usually takes about 30 minutes or less, and you should be able to return to regular activities following the procedure. Some redness at the injection sites is normal and should fade within a few hours. Results typically will be visible after approximately one week, and the effects should last about four months. If you wish to extend the benefits, you can undergo a “touch-up” treatment when additional rejuvenation is desired.

Laser Resurfacing FAQs
What can be treated with a laser peel?
A ProFractional and Micro laser peel is an effective treatment for:
- Sun damage (freckles, rough texture, dark spots)
- Fine lines and wrinkles
- Stretch Marks
Dr. Ebrahim personalizes each laser peel to treat the specific needs of the patient.
How does an ablative laser peel work?
Energy from the laser ablates or removes a superficial layer of skin creating a smoother surface which new skin will regenerate. Removing the top layer eliminates some of the damaged cells that give skin a tired, aged look. As the skin heals fresh cells grow and resurface the treated area. The result is healthier, vibrant skin with reduced wrinkles and improved color tone.
Will an ablative laser peel hurt?
Oral pain medications, numbing cream and nerve blocks are recommended for optimal comfort during the procedure. The treated area will radiate heat for the next several days, similar to a deep sunburn.
What can I expect during the next 5 days?
Oozing and weeping of the skin, slight bleeding, swelling, bruising and itching can be expected and differ from each patient. Swelling will peak at day 2-3. Following the post laser protocol regime is crucial for a successful recovery.
When will the treated area look normal?
The laser areas will crust and peel like a deep sunburn. Regenerated new skin requires increased blood flow causing initial redness which fades to pink and finally normal skin color over a period of 4-8 weeks. Cleanser, post laser dressing, moisturizer and sunscreen is mandatory for optimal post care. Most patients can return to normal social activities within 5-10 days. We recommend mineral make-up to camouflage any residual redness.
Does laser resurfacing remove all wrinkles and sun damage permanently?
A successful laser treatment can “reset the clock” back several years especially if proper skin care is initiated to protect the treated skin from further damage. Fine lines and wrinkles will improve, skin texture will be smoothed and sun damage will diminish. Patients with severe wrinkles and sun damage may need more than 1 treatment. Normal signs of aging will occur over the years.
Normal Side effects
Discomfort and itching occur for several days and may be treated with iced compress, post laser dressing, Tylenol and Oral Benadryl. (Prescription pain medication may be prescribed).
Swelling occurs for several days. Swelling can be eliminated by keeping head elevated, using cold compresses and/or oral anti-inflammatory when recommended by the physician.
Hypo pigmentation is extremely unusual with the Erbium laser.
Hyper pigmentation is rare and usually occurs in darker skin individuals and patients who are exposed to significant sun within the first few months of the peel.
Redness although this eventually goes away, sun exposure causes a delay in resolution.
What medical conditions or medications would prevent laser resurfacing treatment?
Accutane and Pregnancy
Infections or viral outbreaks
What follow-up appointments are necessary?
The following day of treatment our Practitioners will cleanse your face and perform an oxygen facial. Post care products and instructions will be covered in this appointment. A post treatment appointment with Dr. Ebrahim will be made 3 days after the laser peel. Post appointments for laser peel patients will be scheduled according to the particular procedure.
