CoolSculpting is designed to reduce pockets of fatty tissue by freezing fat cells until they are destroyed. Once damaged, the body will eliminate the fat cells through the natural metabolic processes, all without the need for needles or incisions. This device can be applied to many areas of the body traditionally resistant to diet and exercise, including the stomach, thighs, flanks (love handles), and other areas, depending on your cosmetic goals and unique anatomical needs. CoolSculpting is an FDA-approved, non-surgical fat reduction method that requires little to no downtime and offers gradual, beautiful-looking results.
In some cases, CoolSculpting treatments can reduce fatty tissue in the target areas by up to 40 percent, and the average fat loss typically will be around 20 percent. While one session may be enough to achieve your desired goals, Marouska will develop a customized treatment plan for you that can provide the best possible outcome, which may include a second or third session. Each additional session will occur at least two to four months after the previous one. It’s important to note, CoolSculpting is designed to work gradually, and the benefits should begin to show after a few weeks with the full results visible after approximately four months.

CoolMini™ for Double Chin Reduction
One of the most difficult areas to reduce fat is on the chin. Commonly known as a “double chin,” this concern can affect men and women regardless of their fitness level or lifestyle. Fortunately, there is a non-surgical treatment option. CoolMini, from the makers of CoolSculpting, is FDA-approved to reduce submental fat, which is the medical term for a double chin. The CoolMini device uses a small applicator designed to comfortably fit the curves of the chin and deliver cold energy into the targeted area. Just like with CoolSculpting, this process can break up fatty tissue, which can then be eliminated through normal bodily processes. Many patients begin to see improvement in the contour of their face in as little as two to three weeks. Benefits should continue to develop for up to two to three months, when the final result is often visible. The CoolMini procedure is non-surgical and typically requires no downtime. Patients may experience mild bruising, tenderness, and numbness in the treated area, and these effects should fade quickly. If you’re struggling to minimise the appearance of a double chin without success, CoolMini may be right for you.

Who is a good candidate for CoolSculpting®?
Many people can benefit from CoolSculpting, but it should not be used as a weight loss method. If you are within 10-15 pounds of a healthy body weight and struggle to lose diet and exercise-resistant fatty tissue, CoolSculpting may be able to help you achieve your desired body contour. CoolSculpting is particularly popular with individuals who wish to avoid surgical procedures like liposuction and have a phobia of needles and other invasive techniques.
What happens during the procedure?
During the initial consultation, you and Marouska will determine which areas of the body will be addressed in the treatment. The CoolSculpting device will then be placed on the selected region. Once placed, the device will gently pull the area of excess fat between two panels that will deliver the cold energy into the tissue. The entire process typically takes about one hour, though individual experiences vary.
What does it feel like?
The first sensation you will feel will be a gentle but firm tug as your skin is drawn into the device. After the first few minutes of activation, you will begin to feel an intense cold, which will subside quickly. Your comfort is a high priority for us, and you will be seated in a comfortable position lying down. You are welcome to read, work on a computer, or nap during the procedure.
Can I return to normal activities after the procedure?
Yes. CoolSculpting is a non-invasive treatment, and most patients have no difficulty returning to their daily routine following the procedure. You may experience some redness, tenderness, minor bruising, tingling, or numbness in the treated area, but these effects should fade within a few days.
When will I see results?
You should begin to see some changes occurring within three weeks of the initial treatment; however, the full effects will not be visible until approximately two to four months after the procedure. If one session does not provide the desired result, you may consider undergoing a second session, provided Marouska recommends this approach.
Are the results permanent?
The targeted fat cells will be broken down and later eliminated by the body. As long as you maintain your weight, your fat loss should be long-lasting. However, if you gain weight, the area of excess fat could potentially return.
What happens if I gain weight?
Maintaining your weight through regular exercise and a healthy diet is one of the best ways to ensure your results are long-lasting. If you do gain a small amount of weight for any reason, additional CoolSculpting treatments may be able to restore your pre-weight gain figure again. Many patients who go on to have children after CoolSculpting return for follow-up treatment to recover their pre-pregnancy figure. We can provide guidance about how to best preserve your goals and to get the most out of your investment.
How do I choose between liposuction and CoolSculpting®
Both liposuction and CoolSculpting offer targeted reduction of fatty tissue; however, CoolSculpting offers a non-invasive approach to this desired outcome. Additionally, while liposuction requires a four-to-six week recovery period until you’re mostly healed, CoolSculpting offers a brief recovery—you can return to your normal work day and other general activities immediately after treatment. Side effects typically will be minor and short-lived. Every person should decide for themselves which technique is right for them. If you prefer less downtime, complications, and a lower cost, CoolSculpting may be right for you.
How much does CoolSculpting® Cost?
The price of CoolSculpting at our practice ranges between $750 and $1,500 depending on the size of the area you wish to have treated, the number of areas you would like treated, and the number of sessions needed to achieve your goals. We will never leave you wondering about costs. Our team will go over the fees associated with your unique treatment plan during your first visit. And, as always, we welcome your questions.
