Non-Surgical Brow Lift
We have a couple of options for non-surgical brow lifts.
BOTOX Cosmetic® for Drooping Eyelids
BOTOX Cosmetic®, the most popular physician-administered cosmetic treatment in North America, is a medical treatment which has to be injected as it does not penetrate the skin. It is a highly technique-sensitive procedure. BOTOX Cosmetic® is used to improve the appearance of excess upper eyelid skin by elevating the eyebrow. This procedure results in a “lifting” effect which in turn gives the appearance that the eyes are more open; all of this can be achieved without surgery.
- Results are noticeable within 4-5 days.
- Results achieved generally lasts 4-6 months although treated people have noticed longer lasting results.
- The treatment is quick and involves no downtime
For the first time in West Vancouver, Ultherapy is being offered by Dr. Shehla Ebrahim at Ambleside Dermedics. Ultherapy is an entirely new and unique type of non-surgical treatment for the face and neck that uses ultrasound to actually lift and tone loose skin without any downtime. Now we can offer a non-invasive face and neck treatment plus an eyebrow lift. With the use of ultrasound imaging, Dr. Ebrahim can see the layers of tissue during treatment and ensure that the energy is delivered precisely to where it will be the most productive. Significant skin lifting is achieved by focusing ultrasound energy specifically into the deep foundation below the skin (the same area addressed in surgery), as well as into the skin itself. With Ultherapy, we can actually lift and tighten the skin without cutting or disrupting the surface of the skin. In other words, we are improving the skin quality from the inside out. In addition to lifting and tightening, there is the natural creation of collagen, which can help the skin maintain its youthfulness. Although there is an initial effect, the ultimate lifting will take place over 2 to 3 months. Patients like the fact that there is no downtime and that the process is natural and gradual. In addition Ultherapy is very complementary to other procedures addressing more superficial tissue such as lasers, Botox® and dermal fillers.
This video clip from Barbara Walters’ 20/20 special provides a good example of Ultherapy in action.
